Does this auto clicker mod work on 1.8.9?
No. The auto clicker mod we cover (Auto Clicker/FarmClicker) is built for Fabric on Minecraft 26.3. Mods are tied to the game version they were compiled for, and a modern Fabric mod will not load on 1.8.9, which mostly uses old Forge.
There's also a gameplay reason. The mod's whole idea is timing hits to the attack cooldown so you land a sweep attack every swing. Attack cooldown and sweeping edge were added in the 1.9 Combat Update. In 1.8.9 there is no cooldown to time, so this design doesn't apply.
Why 1.8.9 "auto clickers" are risky
Most auto clickers made for 1.8.9 are aimed at PvP servers like Hypixel. That brings two problems:
- Bans. Large servers forbid auto clickers and use anti-cheat that detects inhuman click patterns. A ban is often permanent.
- Malware. Many "free 1.8.9 auto clicker" downloads are bundled with token stealers that grab your Minecraft or Discord account. Never run unknown

Better options
- Play on a modern version for farming. If your goal is AFK XP or mob drops, use the current game version with Fabric and the auto clicker mod. It's purpose-built for single-player mob farms.
- Improve your click speed naturally. For 1.8.9 PvP, practice techniques like jitter or butterfly clicking with a decent mouse — legal everywhere.
- Use vanilla mechanics. In 1.8.9 you can hold the attack button on a block to keep mining; for mobs, a well-designed farm with lava blades or fall damage needs no clicking.
